Another short recording of the Filari.

5 tracks.

This is a video of me playing the Filari. I’m playing it with a glass slide and recording it with Pro Tools 9. I love playing with effects pedals and demonstrate how diverse the sounds can be.
For the first minute and a half the signal has only reverb on it. By adjust the pickup selection switch and the tone pots the timbre is drastically changed.
At the moment I’m using a volume pedal to control dynamics. I’m working on building an FSR (Force Sensitive Resistor) to use with my free hand to control volume, but haven’t finished it yet.
Thank you for watching!

Pedal list (in order)
Volume Pedal -> Blues Driver -> Harmonist -> Phaser -> Compressor/sustain (Not used) -> Digital Delay -> Space Echo -> Rotary -> Reverb

This is the first recording of the Filari, I’m still getting used to finding the right pitches and working on techniques. I played a short series of chords to accompany it as well.

The first sound is very similar to a slide guitar, tapping the slide on the string gives it a fast attack and a long release

The second sound is with the electromagnet on with the slide always on the string. It gives it an infinite sustain with a short release.

The third sound is with the electromagnet on and holding the bass register with another finger so it doesn’t resonate. The string won’t resonate to the left of that finger so putting the slide on the note to the right of the finger creates a long attack with a quick release. Infinite sustain again.
